Description
American Gore GORE-TEX expanded PTFE packing is white packing, divided into oil (GORE-TEX PO) and oil-free (GORE-TEX DO). The packing materials braided with various types of tetrafluoroethylene fibers are not always the same in actual use. On the contrary, they have many differences. If you want to use high-performance PTFE packing, GORE-TEX fiber packing will be your first choice.
 
There is a fundamental difference between GORE-TEX packing and ordinary PTFE braided packing. It uses expanded polytetrafluoroethylene fiber produced by Gore-tex's patented technology and its tensile strength. Is any PTFE fiber (raw tape, split wire) unmatched. Woven packings are more durable than other PTFE packings and have a longer service life. More importantly, the puffing process makes the GORE-TEX fiber's internal structure a porous fiber structure like a sponge. It can better absorb and maintain the lubrication and heat-conducting agent that is beneficial to packing seals. At the same time, it is continuously provided during the working process of the packing, so that the lubrication and the heat-conducting agent of the packing are consistent. Ordinary polytetrafluoroethylene braided packing is usually coated with additives on the surface of the fiber or packing, and the additive will be lost as the packing wears. In addition, the puffed porous structure allows the packing to absorb the expansion caused by the increase in temperature, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is greatly reduced compared to the ordinary PTFE packing.
